Lifted by Grace

This message of grace is so important because through it I have found peace, rest, fulfillment and extraordinary anointing from the Lord. I pray that as you read this message, your heart and minds will be transformed. Brethren, there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). There is so much pain inflicted around us, people are killed, accused, raped, abandoned by parents, lost love, death, job loses etc. The world in itself is broken because of sin, and the consequences are people seeking power and independence from the creator in order to protect themselves, for they think he doesn’t care.

Friends, I am here to tell you that if there is anyone that understands your pain, it is our Lord Jesus. I have been through some terrible things and in the midst of it all, Jesus Christ has shown himself strong and solid. He is the solid rock and foundation (1 Cor3:11 “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ”). Every time I think I was finished and done, he reminds me that as long as I have his mark on me, nothing can ever separate me from his love. Love is an important thing and it is lacking in our generation. Children cannot experience the love of a parent due to divorce and dysfunction in a family, ladies giving themselves up to men for pleasures that don’t last hoping to feel loved, a friend betrays your trust because they considered themselves more important than you, medical practitioners having no heart and are quick to abort babies, children of God getting confused about their Identities in families etc. These are the seeds the enemy has sown and planted deep in the hearts of men, so that they forget their saviour.

I am here to announce to you that in the name of Jesus Christ and by his shed blood, the veils and curses over your lives are broken. The greatest tactic of the enemy is to withhold the fact that he is the father of lies and that everything is God’s fault. Almost like HIV, which will not show itself an enemy to your T-Lymphocytes, until it has acquired massive armies (copies of itself) to shut down your immune system. The grace of God is sufficient for us and it has been given freely on the cross, so we cannot walk around defeated and distressed. This is received by faith and believe in the finished works of the saviour, as I cannot boast that I have gotten this far on my own, never (Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”).

Studying in South Africa was definitely not a walk in the park. I had found myself suffering and distressed, yet I had an earthly father who could buy a jet if he wanted to. I relied so much on him and as my father he would never abandon me. Well, friends I have come to learn that you cannot put your trust in man but in God (Psalm 118:8; Psalm 146:3). I was tormented for two days nonstop in my flat during the Easter break, and I mean the voices in my head kept saying kill yourself, there is no reason to live here for the Lord will understand and you will go to heaven. For 2 days, I had no human connection, did not shower or brush my teeth, constant agony that I was abandoned to my fate.

The voices continued, either you die or you become a prostitute, and I know you do not want to sell your body, so take your life. As a foreign student, you either stayed with a friend or stayed at your flat during the holiday depending on the situation. So right there in my flat on Easter night, I took out the knife and aimed for the vein above my wrist. As I was about to cut, a friend from Zimbabwe who also studies in south Africa called me and said “Chichi please do not do what you are about to do because the enemy wants to steal your destiny and you will not be going to a resting place”. I was adamant to pick up the phone but I thank God I did. That same night, the lord gave me a revelation in a dream that has become the pinnacle of my passion to bring others to him. Jesus reached out to me using a friend because he knows my heart more than anyone and that is one, amongst many examples of the saviour’s love for his children.

A medical doctor once told me “the devil does not attack poor people”, and I am not just speaking financially but also the state of your spirit. People who have kingdom destinies are a threat to the kingdom of darkness and they will do anything to stop you from reaching that destiny. John 16:33, Jesus says “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” If I had taken my life in 2011, I would not be a graduate, would not have a Hons degree, a Masters degree and I would not have married the wonderful man that God has kept for me.

Friends, no matter your trials or failures, come to Jesus and do not reject him. Jesus loved you even before you were born and he still loves you. His grace does not condemn, it heals, and the more you get to know Jesus, the things of this world will start to fade away. You will start to denounce all the worldly lifestyle, iniquity becomes abominable to you. The love and grace of Jesus Christ starts to help you become men and women of integrity, he releases you from ancestral curses and bondage of sins that lead to death (1 Corinthians 6:9-11) We can never be perfect on our own because Jesus is our perfection and righteousness, he took all the pain I went through to the cross, and that is why I am victorious today. I still have challenges and many more but the bible says in Psalm 34:19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all”. Many people think they do not need Jesus, that by just being good and you connect with each other in a good way, you are ok and hell is just a place where good people are put in for small indiscretions. This is the greatest lie from the pit of hell.

Sin has polluted this world, and only when we understand this, can we truly value the sacrifice that Jesus made. The heart of man is evil (Jeremiah 17:9-10; Jeremiah 7:24; Psalm 53:1-3) and the Lord weighs the heart (Proverbs 16:2; Mark 7:20-23 “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person”).

No one is good but God alone and that is why the saviour had to come (Mark 10:18). If you search deep within your hearts and reflect on your life, you will know that this is true. I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful the Lord is to me but I can stand boldly and say that he never failed me. The trials which I have gone through prepared me for where I am now, and I am still learning and growing. Friends, the word of God has power and it has the answer to every question or trials you face. The word made flesh is Jesus Christ, the man of grace, man of love, man of peace, man of forgiveness and king of kings.

Let us come close to God, be sincere in your dealings, trust God more, lean not on your own understanding and I believe he will do new things in your life, Amen.
