This is a message that the Lord put in my heart and I pray the Holy Spirit gives you eyes to see, ears to listen, minds to understand and hearts to accept in Jesus name. Eternity is a topic most people do not want to hear but I can assure you that it exists and it is very real. I cannot fully explain eternity because one cannot even begin to comprehend it. One thing I know for sure is that eternity is limitless, timeless and continuous. The bible makes it clear that this world is only a temporary place and at the end of time, we either spend eternity in Heaven or Hell. In short versions, Heaven is the dwelling place of God (Deuteronomy 26:15; Genesis 28:17; John 3:13; John 14:2) and Hell is the absence of God, the dwelling of Lucifer, his agents and those who joined him to rebel against God (Revelations 20:10; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Mathew 25:41; Revelations 20:13-15). I advise you to read the book of Revelations because this is where Christ reveals to John, the things that are to come and their meaning (Revelations 1:1-3).
Many people feel that the knowledge of eternity serves no purpose and it does not help change their circumstances. On the contrary it does because I believe we can handle circumstances in life once we have the picture of eternity. Mathew 6:33 says “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and everything else will be added onto you”. So many times I asked myself what the difference was between us and the men and women in the bible. What sort of lives did they live that made them special? All I could see was their faith, without which no man can please God (Hebrews 11:6). Paul wrote that this faith is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living (Hebrews 11:1). The men and women in the bible, though not having in hand what was promised to them, believed and accepted that they are transients in this world (Hebrews 11:13-16). They had a proper view of eternity and focused on it (John 14:1-4).
The thought of eternity creates different categories of people; those who don’t care and continue to live in sin (Romans 6:23), those who become lazy or accept ordinariness as they say “we will wait for Christ to come so I have no need to work” (2 Thessalonians 3:11-13), and those that care and pursue the things of God in all honesty (thoughts, words and deeds). Which category do you fall under? You cannot live a life of sin or be lazy because both will keep you in bondage and destroy your chances of making heaven. 1 Peter 4:7-11 tells us that the end is near, so we must be clear minded and self-controlled. Whatever you do, do it in acknowledgement of God.
Jesus died so that we can live with him eternally but we willingly refuse to accept the gift he has given us. When we read the gospel, we find that Jesus spoke more about the burning lake of hell than anything else because he knows the challenges of the human flesh. Jesus is the manifestation of God’s glory (Hebrews 1:1-4) and he is not limited in anyway. He is the lion of the tribe of Judah, who is patiently and continuously at work to warn his children about life after death. Many people say that Christians use hell as a weapon to get them to serve God and go to church. 1 Corinthians 3:18-19 says “Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight”. God is not into slaves or people who love him out of obligation or fear. He is after a genuine and reverent heart, and those with such hearts enter the kingdom of heaven. This is not the time to be lukewarm, you are either cold or hot, you either believe or you don’t (Revelations 3:15-16; Mathew 6:24).
In the past, I always had a timeline for everything and it seemed to be going well, until trials brought me to my knees. Friends, no matter how far along you are in life, your foundation will be tested, not because God is not good but because your heart/motive must be revealed. Are you seeking the gifts and not the giver? Are you a hypocrite? Are you a hearer and not a doer of the word? Is your self-worth based on how many properties you own? Do you feel incomplete without a job, husband or a child? Will you still love God when something precious is taken away? Will you curse God in the moment of trial? Are you serving in church because it makes you look and feel good? Are you counting on human rather than God? What Idols do you serve? I have thought long and hard about what matters to me and the only thing I could think of was submitting and doing the will of God. Brethren, be not afraid of the trials because they are there to test the quality of your foundation (Corinthians 3:10-15; Revelations 3:19).
God wants us to choose life and to deal sparingly with the things of this world (Deuteronomy 30:19). I am not saying you must not enjoy yourself while on earth but be very careful what your definition of enjoyment is. Does it line up with the will of God? We are continuously warned to live simple lives (not mediocre of course) but one of contentment that gives glory to God. We are clamoring and competing for things that are temporary instead of looking ahead towards eternity. 1 Timothy 6:6-7 says “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it”.
Women will do anything to have rich husbands and children, men will do anything to make more money, children are becoming less aware of the creator, a man or woman is mocked for being a virgin. People have given themselves over to the lust and perversions of this world (fornication, perverse talks, adultery, masturbation, greed, hypocrisy, lying, witchcraft, Idolatry, jealousy, people having sexual relations with animals, men sleeping with men and women sleeping with women, babies are sexually violated and blood relatives burn with desire for each other) (Revelations 21:8; Romans 12:1; 1 Timothy 4:1; 2 Timothy 3:5.2 Timothy 4:3-4).
How long are we going to remain deceived? Satan is the father of lies and his hate for humanity is very real, do not mistake that. I advise you listen to people like Bill Wiese, Sarah Boyanga, Mary K Baxter, Brian Melvin, James Joseph, Mario Martinez and John Ramirez. Their testimonies will shock you and you may begin to understand what I am saying. Satan’s influence is widely spread into churches, religious institutions, songs of different genre, beauty products and clothing. Movies and media have shaped our generation into Sodom and Gomorrah and we pay no attention to the spirit behind these activities (Jude 1:7).
Please listen to the word of God because Satan has trapped the minds of God’s people to believe this life is all we have. The bible speaks of the wide and narrow gate (Mathew 7:13-14). The narrow gate is for those who have set themselves apart from this world. It is a difficult road to walk and often lonely because people will shame you for your faith and friends will leave because you tell them the truth. Though you may be alone physically, you are not alone in the spirit. I would rather have the Lord Jesus in this time than a thousand friends or colleagues who are carnally minded. A day will come when we all have to stand before God and attest to the lives we lived on earth (Hebrews 9:27).
Brethren, we are in the last days and it will be terrifying the things that will happen when Christ returns. The enemy is roaming around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8-9). This tells me that there are people he can’t devour, and these people have the mark of Christ on them. Modern churches tell people how prosperous they will be but do not teach them about spiritual warfare and the existence of hell. We have to stop those habitual sins that continue to keep us away from the savior (Hebrews 10:26). The temptations are brought on by the desire to fulfill the flesh (John 2:15-17; James 1:14-15; Mark 7:20-23), so we need to ask the Holy Spirit for self-control.
The tragedy of our time is that societal laws and rights tell us it is ok to (be anyone we want to be, abort babies, dress immodestly because it is our body, use certain substances that control our minds and actions, change our gender and even marry same sex). 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 says “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God”.
I ask you this day to choose the identity of Christ, not celebrities because when your eyes close on this earth, you will awaken to a more reality than what you see now. When that day of judgement comes, the laws and rights will not protect anyone. In John 12: 48 Jesus says “But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the Day of Judgment by the truth I have spoken”.
If there is any area of your life that you have not surrendered to God, please do so now. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour and it is the simplest and easiest declaration you will ever make. No matter how deep in sin you are, Jesus loves you and he is ready to give you a new heart. There is great joy in heaven over one soul that repents (Luke 15:7). I am not perfect but he who loved and died for me is perfect, and being one with him makes me like him (1 John 4:17). Sarah Boyanga said “I would rather have a boring life than take a stupid chance and go to hell” and I totally agree because it is better to please God than man (Mathew 10:28). Please do not take this lightly; heaven and hell are very real. The former offers everlasting peace and joy, while the latter offers sorrow and tears for eternity. It is your choice to make!!!
